    Hi Nate -

I have a number of suggestions for forums, mainly to make them more specialized.

The first one I thought of may not be relevant anymore, but when I arrived here I saw a lot of posts by Mojo and others with monthly performance reports (sometimes with polls). They seemed to be in different locations; I thought it would be better if they were in one forum. I do see that there not so many of those posts appearing these days (though Mojo did list his August results) but perhaps if they were put into their own forum interest would resume.

Then, along similar lines, I do think it would be easier to find and learn things if the theory-strategy-system type posts were in a different forum from the trade-history and trade-example type posts. For example, Matt posted general rules on diagonals and omitrademan has asked about rules for diagonals in Advanced Techniques, while a similar posting "Iron Condor For Beginners" is in Beginners. Another example - you and others have started threads discussing BWB trades in general. As you can see, I keep coming back here looking for advice on these trades. There is really good stuff here!

As to specific the trade histories, if they don't really have much discussion of strategy or rules then they would be better is a separate forum, possibly the same one as performance when they are just stated as a record of how you did. BTW, I do now understand that Mojo stopped explicitly tracking his trades after legal concerns he expressed in April (I just saw that message this weekend), but there still are a number of examples posted by folks here.

Down the road they could get even more specialized if there were enough interest and activity. For example forums for: Technical Analysis, Monthly Income Strategies, Speculative Strategies, Playing Events, or forums for each special trade type, and so on.

Pass this along to the to others if you thing it is worth consideration.

And again, I really appreciate the site.
    Thanks,

    Nate -

I don't know if you saw my message about having lost the 'Thanks' button, but it has disappeared for me after being visible for a day or two.

But I see I am up to a total of 24 posts, so perhaps if I post a few more messages, then the 'Thanks' option will reappear for me.

    Thanks for the reply, Nate.

So it's called vBulletin. It's full of functionality and very friendly. I like it. I checked out their website - PHP & mySQL.
It really does a have considerable reporting capabilities! And that explains why it's statistics tab is called vBExperience.

Are you open to suggestion to set up some more forums?

    Hi Nate -

I gather from your blog that you set up this bulletin board system for Mojo. I'm really impressed with it, even though I'm still figuring out some of it. What is the software? Did you know about it or do research to find it? I like it - though I can't say I've used many since the days before Windows, when BBS's were all text based.

Do you know why I and others do not see the 'Thanks' button? Does one have to reach a certain advanced level to see it?

Thanks for your work on this system.

PS - I now see your message about changing the 'Thanks' module so that a user can offer thanks after their first posting. Thanks.
